Shinsei Kamattechan / Yuugata no Piano
JAPANESE POP MUSIC:
The music video I'll introduce today is the most depressing song among many of the melancholic numbers of Shinsei Kamattechan whose title is "Yugata no piano" meaning "sound of the piano in the evening". The song is about the vocalist's strong resentment against his classmate in his schooltime who doggedly bullied him and hurt him. You can hear a shouting Japanese word "Shineeeh!" which means "die" many times, and the lyrics include the real name of the bullying boy "Sato" like "Shine yo Sato" meaning "Sato shoud die". This song really expresses the sorrow and the darkness of a bullied child's mind. However, the sound with a beautiful melody line of the piano playing is easy listening, and the singing voice is changed into a high-pitched voice. The girl appears in the video probably plays the role of a buffer to alleviate this heavy song. I hope you like it!
