Shinsei Kamattechan / Kuroi tamago
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK MUSIC:
The music video I'll recommend today is "Kuroi tamago" meaning "a black egg" by Shinsei Kamattechan. "A black egg" is a metaphoric expression for an inferior, uncelebrated and unloved human. In the lyrics, it is said that "I'll name and care for this gross black egg", and "it is stupid to say you want to be a white egg as you are hopeless, you are just as you are, and it can't be helped". This is a song of abandonment and acceptance for oneself. It is depressive and dark but has a pop feeling with a nice electro and shoegazer sound. I hope you like this song.

Shinsei Kamattechan / Tenshi jya chijyou jya chissokushi
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK MUSIC:
Today's song's title is "Tenshi jya chijyou jya chissokushi" meaning "angels choke to death in this world" by Shinsei Kamattechan. It has a sense of hopelessness and abandonment through the song that constantly sung "no more","I've had it","I'm choked","I want to die" and "angels are falling" repeatedly. I think the video really matches the lyrics of this song, and its sound is a gloomy rock music with a cool guitar riff. I hope you enjoy it!

Shinsei Kamattechan / Speed
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK MUSIC:
The title of this time's song is "Speed" by Shinsei Kamattechan".It sounds like running at high speed. The keyboard playing in the last part is very impressive. The lyrics say "I will keep running at extremely high speed, gaining speed like from at 80km per hour,90km per hour, 100km ...endlessly through whole my life, because I can be alone beyond space and time", and "If you want to be solitude, anyway, run and run very fast." Also it says "but sometimes I slow down my running speed so that I can be seen and cared kindly by other people". According to the comment by the vocalist, he composed this song to express his empty mind. I hope you enjoy it.
Shinsei Kamattechan / Ikutsu ni nattara
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK MUSIC:
This is a song titled "Ikutsu ni nattara" meaning "What age will I become...?" by Shinsei Kamattechan. This video is full with youthful air that it is sung about a young man's ambition for a success as a musician who plays in front of thousands of audiences. But the young man is bored with working a part-time job at a convinience store doing the same tasks hundreds of times everyday ,even though he wants to live his life more honestly and humorously. In his mind, himself in his teen's tells him "don't want to become like you". This is a fresh and adolescent rock music which is catchy and melodic. I really recommend this song!

Shinsei Kamattechan / Hana-chan wa risuka
JAPANESE POP MUSIC:
The title of the song is "Hana-chan wa risuka" which has two meanings of "Hana(girl's name) is a squirrel" and "Hana slits her wrist" by Shinsei Kamattechan. This video is so cute though, the song is very depressing as usual. Hana is a girl who can't stop slitting her wrists with a razor expressing the vocalist's himself as a metaphor. Hana has a depression and hungers for love due to being bulllied and hated by other people. Although she wants to kill those hateful people or kill herself, she is not courageous enough to do that, so she always hurts herself little by little by slitting her wrists. It is sung that Hana is as weak and docile as a squirrel. This music sounds electric and fast-paced pop. Hope you like it!
Shinsei Kamattechan / Hanzaisya yobigun
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK MUSIC: The title of today's song is "Hanzaisya yobigun" meaning "would-be criminals" by Shinsei Kamattechan. As you see the video, it reminds you a child kidnap-murder case. Actually this music video was posted when many of this kind of cases happend in succession in Japan. The lyrics tell that a man who got fired everytime makes a friend with a small girl, since the girl becomes attached to him, and often invites her to his "castle" which is his apartment. He falls in love with the small girl and behaves like her knight. One day,he murdered his supervisor of his working place. Then, he takes the small girl deep into the forest while playing with her. The insane man in the video really represents this song's world clearly, but the creepy man looks humorous and the picture is fantasic. And the song itself is a cool rock music with nice phrases of the guitar. I hope you enjoy this video. |

Shinsei Kamattechan / Nijyu-san sai no natsuyasumi
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK:
The video you will see today is "Nijyu-san sai no natsuyasumi" which means "summer vacation at the age of 23 years old" by Shinsei Kamattechan. The song is about a 23 year-old man's summer vacation. He has no plan to do, but just ride a bicycle as ever. He doesn't work or go to school, and he is languish. He has spent every summer vacation like this for many years, and he laments and yells that he became 23 years old miserably with being afraid of soon becoming 33 years old in a blink of an eye. He automatically wonders how his friend in his childhood is doing, or how much savings he has now. This song is uplifted rock, and like feeling the wind and summer with the images in the scenes set at the beach. It is a nice song.

Shinsei Kamattechan / Ossan no yume
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK:
This is an encouraging song for salaried workers who have forgotten their hopeful childhoods with a lot of dreams. The song is titled "Ossan no yume" meaning "a dream of an old man" by Shinsei Kamattechan. It is sung that a salaried worker is tired with hardworking and daily monotonous lives, and starts to think that he doesn't want to age as he is. Then he recalls his childhood memories and decides to seek forgotten dreams he had at that time. In the video, the vocalist of Shinsei Kamattechan plays the role of the salaried worker. The song is more like Japanese folk music. I hope you like it!

Shinsei Kamattechan / Maisurii zenbu yume
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK:
This time, I'll introduce a nice song titled "Maisurii zenbu yume" by Shinsei Kamatechan. "Maisurii" is a name of sleeping pills, and "zenbu yume" means "it is all a dream". It is sung about the feeling a boy in depression has. He is awfully depressed about everything that he hates everbody who don't understand how he is sad, agonizing and hurt, but they upset him. So, the boy can't sleep and need sleeping pills. He has a dream of jumping from the rooftop of school with a self-deprecating humour. The song perhaps reminds you some Oasis's song. I think the last part with noisy sounds is moving. I hope you enjoy this song very much.
Shinsei Kamattechan / Shinjuku eki
JAPANESE POP AND ROCK:
Today, I'll show you the music video of Shinsei Kamattechan's song titled "Shinjuku eki" meaning Shinjuku-eki station".This is a cheering song for Japanese salaried workers who are tired with their hard working. Shinjuku-eki station is one of the places where the most salaried workers gather in Tokyo. They have to overwork everyday, so they have no time to spend with their girlfriends or families, and endure only a little amount of allowance given from their wives. The economic and political climates in Japan have taken a dark turn. However, those workers try to shake off the gloomy air and everyday, take trains forcing themselves to feel brisk at Shinjuku-eki station. In the video the vocalist "Noko" acts as a salaried worker in Shinjuku, and this song is catchy, easy listening and pop. The phrase which is an artificial Japanese "Chikarete naaaaaaaaaiiii " means "are you tired?". I hope you like this song.

Shinsei Kamattechan / Yuugata no Piano
JAPANESE POP MUSIC:
The music video I'll introduce today is the most depressing song among many of the melancholic numbers of Shinsei Kamattechan whose title is "Yugata no piano" meaning "sound of the piano in the evening". The song is about the vocalist's strong resentment against his classmate in his schooltime who doggedly bullied him and hurt him. You can hear a shouting Japanese word "Shineeeh!" which means "die" many times, and the lyrics include the real name of the bullying boy "Sato" like "Shine yo Sato" meaning "Sato shoud die". This song really expresses the sorrow and the darkness of a bullied child's mind. However, the sound with a beautiful melody line of the piano playing is easy listening, and the singing voice is changed into a high-pitched voice. The girl appears in the video probably plays the role of a buffer to alleviate this heavy song. I hope you like it!

Shinsei Kamattechan / Jibunrashiku
JAPANESE POP MUSIC:
The song I'll introduce today is "Jibunrashiku" by Shinsei Kamattechan. The title means "want to be myself". It is sung that one cannot live neither like a man nor like a woman, but want to be oneself, although it is said generally that "being a man" and "being a woman" is always right. The one wants to live as a rock musician and to live honestly as a good human, doesn't matter man or woman. In the video, you see a stationary picture from the beginning till the part the guitarist steps on the effects unit, but a motion picture starts after that, along with a pop rock and roll music. I believe you will enjoy the video a lot.

JAPANESE POP MUSIC; The music video I'll show you is "Natsu no yurei buin start!" by Shinsei Kamattechan. The title means "becoming a non-existent member like a ghost in summer". In this song, the sad emotion of a girl who is serious, dour, and less represented as other classmates treat her as if she is a ghost is sung. The singing voice it changed into a high-pitched voice by the vocoder. Please enjoy this ghost girl's world! |

JAPANESE POP MUSIC:
Today,I'll show you a music video titled "Rock and Roll wa nariyamanai" by Shinsei Kamattechan. The title means "Rock and Roll sounds endlessly". At the beginning, you will be drawn into a beautiful piano melody which goes on throughout the song. It is sung that when a boy was a student, he listened to the Beatles, and the Sex pistols one day, though, he didin't like them at first, but as he listened to them more times, he got so involved with rock and roll music. Now the boy became a rock singer, but feels something is missing. He wants more impact and energy to do rock and roll as much as he had in school days to knock out the recent crap music trends. The music video is interesting that motion pictures of many historical rock musicians appear in turns. How many artists can you recognize? I hope you enjoy this video.

This is the song titled "Tomodachi nannte iranai minnna shine" which means " I don' want friends, all die" by Shinsei Kamattechan. Now you see this is a kind of depressive mad song. The lyrics are like " I really want to shoot a shotgun to his head and stew and eat him, but I have to behave as his friend at school", or "Just saying the words like 'are you fucking serious?' lightely, you can make friends with them". It is full of sarcasm. The boy in this song has a mental illness and goes to psychiatry, and thinks friends are disgusting and bothering. And a phrase "you killed yourself by hanging with the tambourine" is sung several times. Robot no yoru / Shinsei Kamattechan
Hello! today,I want to recommend the song titled "a robot's night"(in Japanese "Robotto-no-yoru" played by a Japanese band "Shinsei Kamattechan". This song is about "phobia". It is repeatedly said "I'm afraid, I'm afraid" meaning a boy is feared with everything, like the world, people, and the color of blue. But it's too abstructive to understand what this song actually wants to say. You can see t...he world in a dream covered with cold and fearful blue color accompanying the sound of electro and shoegazer.Hearing the pop, but mixed with monotonus chunt-like sound,You would become numb and nothing, then feel "a robot". It is interesting that the vocalist's voice is changed into a high-pitched femalelike voice by the vocoder. Hopefully enjoy this fantasic pop sound.
Shinsei Kamattechan / Front Memory
Today,I'd like to introduce another music video played by a Japanese pop and rock band "Shinsei Kamattechan". The title of the song is "Front Memory" which sounds lightly pop and danceable with a sense of speed and beautiful piano phrases. The lyrics of this song seems to be about a girl being exhaused and dull with her daily life in hot summer days despite her trying to be more active, though, the video shows the settings in spring. Actually it's difficult to tell what the song wants to say. However, it means this is the one you just enjoy its sounds and air sung by the female vocalist's nice high-pitched voice. I hope you enjoy and like it.
